About Hammi

Hamlet’s journey in apparel began at the age of eleven in Los Feliz, California, where he watched his grandmother sew fur vests and dresses day and night to support their family. Her dedication instilled in him a deep respect for the craft of garment construction, a passion that would define his career.

For the past 13 years, Hamlet has owned and operated a premier dry cleaning and alterations business in the heart of Los Feliz. More than just a local business, his shop has become a trusted neighborhood institution, serving generations of families, creatives, and longtime residents. Known for his meticulous work, honesty, and genuine care for his customers, Hamlet has built lasting relationships throughout the community and earned a reputation as one of Los Feliz’s most respected craftsmen.

Over the course of his career, he personally altered more than 100,000 pairs of jeans. Through this high-volume, hands-on experience, he noticed a universal flaw in the denim industry: mass-produced jeans consistently failed to accommodate the natural waist-to-hip ratio of modern bodies. He quickly realized that the problem wasn’t the wearer. It was the pattern.

Determined to bridge the gap between off-the-rack manufacturing and custom tailoring, Hamlet dedicated five years to rigorous research, development, and pattern prototyping. Leveraging a decade of real-world fit data, he engineered a proprietary design formula.

The result is HAMMI, a premium denim collection designed using decades of tailoring expertise and real-world fit data. Crafted to accommodate the proportions traditional denim often overlooks, HAMMI eliminates the need for post-purchase alterations, delivering a flawless, custom-tailored feel straight off the shelf. Inspired by a lifetime of craftsmanship, shaped by the trust of a loyal community, and perfected through years of hands-on expertise, what began as a childhood inspiration is now a revolution in fit, proudly shared with the world.
